Bristol Caverns, historic Sullivan County, Tennessee

Beautiful and majestic Bristol Caverns!
Truly a great wonder, Bristol Caverns has some of the most beautiful rock formations in the world! The caverns magnificently host colorful stalactites and stalagmites, believed to have been carved out by an ancient Underground River some 200 to 400 million years ago. During frontier days, the Underground River was used as a secret route when attacking unsuspecting settlers. Today, visitors enjoy paved, well-lighted walkways that take them through the vaulted chambers while viewing a myriad of colors displayed by the rich veins of minerals. Fun for the entire family!
