SCOPE AND CONTENT
The Melissa Ann Skipper Collection contains four family Bibles, 1 photograph, and 1 tomahawk head.
Of special note is the Felton family Bible, which chronicles the family and some descendants of the family of Henry Felton and Catharine Wotring, both of whom were reportedly born ca1800.
Melissa Ann Skipper is the daughter of Billie Robert Miller (1924-1995) and Evelyn Jean "Toodie" Henson Miller Feathers of Sullivan County, Tennessee. Eveyln Henson was the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Henson (1893-1954) and Lucy Lee Webb (1895-1945) also of Sullivan County, Tennessee.
In 2006, Ms. Skipper obtained the Felton Family Bibles from her 1st cousin, Lyle Henson, son of Thomas Lyle Henson (1917-1983) and Evelyn Pearl Felton Webb (1922-2005). Ms. Felton indicated that the tomahawk head came from the family of Thomas Jefferson Henson and Lucy Webb aforementioned.
