The Charles Elmer Jones-Helen Wine Garst Family Collection contains photos and memorabilia pertaining to Sullivan County, Tennessee, with a special focus on the Indian Springs and the Holston Institute community.


BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Charles Elmer Jones was the son of Charles Thurman Jones and Cora Bailey.  Charles married in 1941 to Helen [Ellen] Wine Garst, born 1917 to Pierce Samuel Garst and Bertha Adeline Wine of Sullivan Co., TN. Charles and Helen had four children, one of whom was Samuel Charles (Sam) Jones, donor of this collection.
